We are looking for a driven and creative Learning Consultant to work with our clients to develop innovative, pedagogically strong learning solutions that meet their business needs and deliver behavioural change around governance, risk and compliance.

You will act in a strategic capacity with Eukleia’s clients to guide them in understanding their training needs and developing effective and innovative solutions that meet those needs. You will be able to play a lead role in the pre-sales process and offer strategic and instructional design guidance to proposals and bids.

You will own the overall creative vision for a range of learning projects, including e-learning courses, videos and animations, learning games, simulations, material for instructor-led training, and complex blends involving multiple different learning elements. You will collaborate with art directors, developers and project managers, as well as internal and client subject matter experts (SMEs). As the learning design lead for your projects you’ll have a view on the best design approach for each one, given the particular client needs, and be able to articulate that viewpoint persuasively.

Building on a number of years of experience as a learning designer, you will have an extensive understanding of the principles of adult learning and of learning technology. You will be confident leading workshops with clients, writing creative treatments and drawing up scoping documentation. An excellent communicator, you will be able to collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.

Eukleia specialises in governance, risk and compliance (GRC) training and works extensively with clients in the financial services sector. You may not have a background in either of these areas, but will be enthusiastic about learning more about them and becoming a specialist in GRC training.

Your main duties will include:

  • Holding the creative vision for the overall e-learning or blended project, as well as ultimate responsibility for the quality of the project and the effectiveness of its learning design
  • Researching content and working with the client and internal teams to transform that content into effective and engaging learning
  • Leading and facilitating design workshops, both internally and with clients
  • Working with an art director to define visual and multimedia approaches
  • Pitching design concepts to client stakeholders at every level
  • Creating detailed design documentation, including storyboards
  • Outlining and developing interactive scenarios and case studies
  • Writing creative, concise and persuasive instructional copy
  • Understanding how to get the best from a variety of in-house and off the shelf authoring tools. This will include becoming familiar with LTG group technologies and products and leveraging experience from across the group
  • Effectively managing multiple priorities, projects and relationships
  • Working with multiple client stakeholders and internal project managers to produce clear, actionable, in-scope client feedback for developers and art directors

Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of how people learn, through both formal and informal interventions, in a business environment
  • Good understanding of developments in technology and their best practice use to enhance learning or contributors to learning, such as engagement and motivation
  • Researching content and working with subject experts to transform content into effective and engaging learning
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the latest theories, theorists, debates and advances in e-learning design and standards (to embrace not just traditional e-learning on PC, but also emerging learning technologies and web)
  • Understanding learning objectives and coming up with a learning approach to meet learning and business needs
  • Ability to balance innovation conversations with practical implementation requirements – always thinking about effectiveness of design and value to the customer
  • Working with an art director to define visual and multimedia approaches as appropriate for the solution
  • Writing compelling proposals for potential new work
  • Pitching design concepts to client stakeholders at every level
  • Creating detailed design documentation, including storyboards, as needed
  • Outlining and developing interactive scenarios and case studies
  • Writing creative, concise and persuasive instructional copy
  • Developing effective assessment questions, quality distractors and practice interactions that accurately test the learners’ ability to meet those objectives
  • Understanding how to get the best from a variety of in-house and off the shelf authoring tools
  • Ability to make sound and timely decisions in challenging and/or ambiguous circumstances
  • Ability to negotiate, consult effectively and to deal with people and issues with sensitivity
  • Good communication skills with different audiences and different media – written and oral
  • Energy, enthusiasm, flexibility, confidence and ability to take the initiative.
  • Resilience, tenacity and the ability to work to tight deadlines and sometimes in challenging circumstances
  • Ability to establish standards and monitor quality
  • Ability to work in partnership and to promote collaborative working

The following skills or experience are of benefit but not essential:

  • Experience of film shoot direction, animation direction and voiceover scripting
  • Knowledge or experience of game design and/or game writing
  • Experience of measuring the impact of learning and using the results to improve learning
  • Knowledge or experience of financial services and/or governance, risk or compliance
