Ebook: How to ensure your organisation is SMCR-ready

Originally rolled out to the banking sector in 2016, the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) is about to be extended to around 47,000 additional firms.

Beginning with insurance companies, from December 2018, and reaching asset managers in 2019 (subject to a final Treasury decision), the SMCR calls for an entirely new mindset within organisations. The time to prepare for the SMCR is now.

Eukleia’s new ebook, ‘How to ensure your organisation is SMCR-ready’, provides practical guidance on how to make sure your organisation is ready for the extension.

Drawing on our extensive experience in helping many banking organisations to successfully navigate the SMCR, the ebook also explains how to communicate the required changes to staff at all levels.

There are three groups of employees who need to be trained under the SMCR, each with different needs:

  • Senior Managers
  • Certified Persons
  • Almost all of your other employees, who are referred to as Other Conduct Rule Staff under the regime.

As well as explaining how to train each group, Eukleia’s ebook, written by Principal Consultant Liz Hornby, explores the nuances of assessing and reporting potential Conduct Rule breaches, the key planning and implementation stages of the SMCR and our top five tips for successful implementation and achieving the right training blend.
