As part of our ‘Meet the team’ series, we’re chatting to key members of the Eukleia family each month so you can get to know them better. Today we’re speaking to Jaiman Patel, a Learning Consultant in Eukleia’s London office.
What does your role as Learning Consultant at Eukleia entail?
I create elearning and classroom storyboards and presentations on a variety of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) topics for clients. I follow the process through the review stages, re-writing content and adding instructional design to the learning in order to provide succinct and engaging learning for the user.
I also manage our generic course catalogue in terms of content, learning design and how these products can be used in the business.
Which part of working at Eukleia do you love most?
It is a combination of collaborating with clients to achieve the best solution, as well as working with Eukleia’s dedicated staff to provide engaging training material for the client’s needs.
This leads to different challenges on a day-to-day basis which creates an exciting and enjoyable working environment.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
After taking up golf in 2008 and never having had a lesson, taking less than 80 shots in a round for the first time was a proud accomplishment. Taking less than 70 is next on my bucket list…
What is the biggest challenge you’ve overcome?
Anxiety and nerves before interviews, webinars and presentations. After presenting webinars, training sessions and other forms of learning online and in person in the course of my job, I overcame the majority of my anxiety I felt before these sessions to perform well.
What are the three things you can’t work without?
- My laptop
- Good conversation
What subject could you give a 30-minute presentation about with no advance preparation?
With regard to work, I would say financial crime. It’s a subject I have slowly learned more about and has become a speciality area for me after completing a variety of ICA and CISI exams on the topic.
Outside of work, I’m always happy talking about golf and West Ham United.
