Course Outline

Introduction

The course starts by looking at examples of bad communications and explaining the importance of making sure that all actions and communications meet the highest regulatory and ethical standards.

Dos and Don'ts

The course then examines key dos and don'ts concerning safe communications, including the particular issues associated with communications involving confidential and inside information. Through an exercise learners are asked to evaluate whether a communication is fair, clear and not misleading.

Format

SCORM 1.2 compliant. The course uses Adobe Flash.

Implementation

This course runs on any SCORM compliant LMS platform. Adobe Flash Player v6 (or later) must be installed in the web browser. JavaScript must be enabled and pop-up blockers disabled.

Course Overview

The course examines the regulatory and reputational risks associated with the careless or improper use of email communications.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the course the learner will:

  • know of the damage that can be caused by poor communication
  • understand the need to read and check all communications before sending
  • be aware of how easily electronic communications can be misinterpreted or misunderstood
  • understand the need to be clear, fair and not misleading

Audience:

The course is suitable for all staff in the financial services sector, especially front office staff.

Course duration:

Approximately 20 minutes.

Assessment:

There are a number of interactions and questions in the body of the course but there is no end of course test.
